Tallow & Things™ Return & Refund Policy

We want you to feel completely confident and cared for when choosing our handcrafted tallow skincare. If you are not totally satisfied and in love with any of your Tallow & Things™ products, we will replace it or refund your investment — with no risk, no hassle, and no worry.

Below you’ll find our full return & refund guidelines, which help us maintain quality control, fair use, and consistency across one-time orders and subscription orders.


100% Satisfaction Guarantee

If you are not completely satisfied with your product, simply contact us at orders@tallowandthings.com within 30 days of receiving your order.

We will offer either:

  • a replacement, or
  • a full refund of the product purchase price.

To help us improve, we may ask for:

  • the lot number on the bottom of your jar, and
  • an image of the product (if possible).

These are requested only for quality control and are not required to receive a replacement or refund.


How to Start a Return or Request a Refund

Email us at orders@tallowandthings.com with:

  • your name
  • order number
  • the product(s) you’d like refunded or replaced
  • a brief note about your experience (optional but helpful)

If a return of the physical product is necessary, we will provide instructions and a return address.

Important:
Items sent back to us without first contacting us will not be accepted.


Eligibility for Returns & Refunds

Eligible

  • One-time purchases (first-time or repeat)
  • First-time subscription orders (initial shipment)
  • Products that arrived damaged, leaking, or defective
  • Incorrect items received

Not Eligible

  • Products older than 30 days from delivery
  • Repeated refund requests for the same product type from the same customer
  • Subscription renewal orders that have already been processed or shipped
  • Sale items, gift cards, or promotional giveaways

Damages & Issues

Please check your package upon arrival. If your product is damaged, leaking, defective, or incorrect, email us immediately so we can make it right with a replacement or refund.


Personal Care Products (Important)

Because tallow skincare is a personal care product, traditional unopened-only return policies don’t always apply.

Our satisfaction guarantee overrides this — meaning:

  • You can receive a refund even if the product has been opened and used (within our fair-use policy).
  • We may request the lot number or an optional photo for internal quality control.

Fair Use Policy

To prevent abuse and to keep our guarantee sustainable:

  • Refunds are limited to one refund per product type per customer.
  • Excessive or repeated refund requests may be declined.

This protects our small-batch craftsmanship while ensuring fairness for all customers.


Exchanges

If you prefer to exchange your product instead of receiving a refund, we’re happy to help.

Most exchanges follow the same process as refunds and are typically handled through email.


Subscription Orders (Skio)

First Subscription Order

Covered fully under our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.

Renewal Orders

Because renewal orders are created automatically to reserve inventory and begin batching:

  • Renewal orders cannot be refunded once they have processed or shipped.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time before the next charge date.
  • You can manage your subscription through your customer portal or by emailing us.

If a renewal arrives damaged, leaking, or incorrect:

We will replace it immediately at no cost to you.


Refund Processing

Once your refund is approved, it will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days.

Processing times vary by your bank or credit card provider.

If more than 15 business days have passed since approval, contact us at orders@tallowandthings.com.


European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

If your order is delivered to the EU, you have the right to cancel or return it within 14 days for any reason.
The product must be in its original condition, and proof of purchase is required.
